Ulyss Morinda, winner in Germany at the 4* CSI in Gross Viegeln
And his first outing in a 1.60m Grand Prix
Ulyss Morinda made himself even more remarked upon at the 4* CSI in Gross Viegeln in Germany, where he won the first Grand Prix qualifier in the breathtaking time of 33.36 seconds in the second leg.
Despite a huge concentration of German, Swiss, English and Japanese riders who tried their best, no-one was able to catch Rik Hemeryck and his accomplice. Ulyss seemed to be very much amused – he adores going fast against the clock. And to top that he won himself a horse box, which Rik Hemeryck dragged back to Belgium behind his lorry.
On the Sunday our stallion took part in his first 1.60m Grand Prix….and but for a slight misunderstanding between him and Rik which led to a 4 fault mistake, Ulyss quite simply walked it (see the video). He showed his exceptional ability and jumped the course as though it were just 1.40m, without any apparent effort.
Just how far can this horse go?
