Jedi Du Plantie SF

Male Piebald 5 years old 1m67

General comments

The superb JEDI DU PLANTIE is the uterine brother of our young stallion HELIOS MORINDA. We had wanted to create Jedi, since the mother of the two foals, Audace Kalone, had belonged to us since the time when she was weaned. So we were the ones who raised her and had her covered by Ulyss Morinda when she was six (the covering which gave us Helios Morinda) and then by Quel Homme de Hus as an 8-year-old. Then we sold her when she was in foal with Jedi to the Plantie stud.

Jedi was born on the 18th of May 2009 and, later, as he was for sale, we bought him back at the age of 19 months. He has been growing peacefully with the other J foals, like Jolly Jumper Morinda, to whom he is very close (see the photos of them playing as two-year-olds.

At the very beginning of 2022, Jedi left to be broken in and to be tried out over some poles. The actual breaking in was nothing but a formality, as Jedi has a character of gold. As for his first attempts at jumping, they turned out to be very promising. Everything is there, the style, the balance, as well as respect and strength. His story is to be continued... Jedi finally became a magnificent stallion, approved by the Anglo-European Stud-book in March 2024.

Père : Quel Homme De Hus Holsteiner

His father QUEL HOMME DE HUS is a notable champion with an uncommon power. He won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympic Games, and has also won many 1m60 Grand Prix in 5* CSO. For example, between 2019 and 2021: the Rome Grand Prix, Mexico City, Knokke, the Nations’ Cup in Rotterdam and Barcelona... In December 2021, Quel Homme finished 3rd in the Geneva Top Ten, a competition between the ten best riders in the world!

This magnificent stallion is by QUIDAM DE REVEL, a son of Jalisco B and Dirka. A true ‘European founding father’, Quidam was placed among the top ten best stallions in the world in 2011. His principal qualities are his energy, propulsion and the action of his back.

The dam of QUEL HOMME DE HUS, P.Hawaii, has also produced Lauderdale, a good winner in 1m40 classes. Based in Poland, she mainly produces dressage youngsters.

The sire of Quel Homme de Hus’s dam, Candillo Z, is an excellent and regular sire of dams. A descendant of Cassini I, he has himself brought a large contribution to Holsteiner breeding over the course of the last twenty years. He has produced sales horses which are famous throughout the world. One can find the same genetic qualities in Candillo Z.

The grand-dam of QUEL HOMME DE HUS, Hawaii, has also produced Legolas, a very good international winner under German colours; Erik der Roteet Lennie 3, good winners over 1m50; and Caraccho, a good winner at 1m40.

This maternal line is also the origin of the approved stallions L’Esprit, Corando and Efremov.

Première mère : Audace Kalone SF

His mother, Audace Kalone, also Selle Francais, was put directly into reproduction thanks to her excellent genetics and her superb conformation. She is a daughter of Visage Van de Olmenhoeve, one of the only two coloured stallions to have competed in classes up to 1.60m and in CSIO and CCE.

Deuxième mère : Idée Du Bourg SFA

Idée du Bourg, a daughter of Socrate de Chivre, was a brilliant winner as a four year old with 14/14 clear rounds, one of eight equal Champions and classed as Elite. Two of her uterine brothers competed internationally: Dandy du Bourg (CSIO) ridden by Luis Astolfi (Jeux de Jerez) and Cascadeur du Bourg (CSI).

Idée du Bourg would have probably had an international career, as brilliant as those of her brothers, if an injury hadn’t obliged her to become a broodmare.

Amongst the products who have reached the age of competition, Op’La de la Roque was 5th in the 4-year-old Hunter class, and 11th as a 5-year-old; Queenie de la Roque was placed in CSI classes for young horses, ridden by Alain Bourdon, and was a finalist as a 6-year-old (ISO 135) and continued in CSI as an 8-year-old.; Rapido de la Roque was a finalist in the classic Belgian cycle for 5-year-olds; and Virtuose Kalone brilliantly represented her family in eventing (ICC 127). Lastly, Besame d’As Morinda was exported to the USA.

Troisième mère : Rebecca Du Bourg SFA

Rebecca du Bourg, daughter of the thoroughbred King’s Road, has produced very well in the field of show jumping. I could cite Dandy du Bourg (CSIO) ridden by Luis Astolfi (Jeux de Jerez) and Cascadeur du Bourg (CSI), the long awaited Idée du Bourg (see below), and also Kanter du Bourg.

She’s the uterine sister of the excellent Odéon du Bourg (ISO 154).
